The adventures continue...

Standing in the library, I looked at the shelves of books, and thought how will I ever find a book to read, that I like. I don't even know where to start.  So I started in the corner and began reading the backs of the books in the hopes that one would jump out at me.  I did this for quite sometime, I tuned out all the noise around me and it was just me and the turning of the pages of the  books.  Row by Row, I looked at the  and then I stopped.  My heart did that little jumpy thing, something wasn't right.  It was quiet, no one was around. This was not a good sign, as the library is connected to the kitchen.  I stepped out into the kitchen and found the door shut, maybe I could open it.  No luck.  I was locked in the library and the kitchen with no way out.  A window, thankfully was near by, so I just started to yell for help, hoping that Noily in the office would here me.  After a few minutes, Noily came running out to the terraza, looked at me from a distance, shook

From the Heart

The rain is falling, the thunder rolls, the lightning flashes and I am sitting on my porch enjoying it.  As I sit here, I look around me and I see so much.  I see houses of different sizes, colors, and maybe some need repairs, but they all have one thing in common, it's a home.  I see the trees and plants and look at their size and think even these have a purpose, some may be food for animals or maybe a home for another or even just color to brighten our day, but all of them reflect who the Lord is, He is the Creator of all things and made all things for His Glory. All includes us.  Over the past few days I have been thinking about how God created each person different.  We all have a story to tell and not one story is the same but there is one thing in common, that is, God created us.  He gave us life for His glory. Don't let what others may have or others say about you rob you from what you know is true and from what God is doing in your life right now.  It's easy to sa

Finding the beauty in a city

Bus transportation is rather simple and easy to do around here, it's also the cheapest way to travel.  So come and join me on this quick, fun, spontaneous walk exploring more of San Jose. Imagine riding on this empty bus with me, you are 10 minutes from San Jose I love looking at old buildings and new buildings, their designs and just imagine what history it has.  To be honest I have no idea what these buildings are, but I found them fascinating as they were nestled in San Jose, close to modern buildings.  The fact that they are still around must mean something right...    Take a look at the details... This house, studio, or museum caught my eye from a few blocks away. It definitely makes a statement. There are a lot of old building just a little off the beaten path. I am sure there is a story to this place This is beautiful! On one corner you  have this beautiful place and on the corner across the street is the place in the picture above.  Two

Planting seeds:) What a blessing!

At the beginning of this past trimester (it just ended) at our first chapel service there was an illustration given that really didn't hit me until it was spoken about on our last service.  Our speaker was talking about why we are missionaries,  the obvious reason is because of Jesus!  Because He has asked us to leave all behind and follow Him and trust Him.  In my opinion, (I was so ready to just write this sentence in Spanish, Subjunctive Rule # 9, expressing opinions), decided to keep it in English and say, we are all missionaries.   We are missionaries where ever we live...some people are called to live abroad and leave all behind and others are called to stay in their home, but God can use and does use all of us, so we are all missionaries, those who are called His!  And there often times we don't always see the fruit of our work but God does and He knows what is going to happen, but we are called to plant seeds where ever we live.  Those seeds can produce a harvest. Our

Test day...not an average day...

Today was one of those days, I knew I needed to get myself up and moving at a certain time.  Every morning I need my time with Lord...so important and I need breakfast, which usually consist of a bowl of fresh fruit.  Today my breakfast was strawberries, mango, papaya, and banana, with chocolate chips on top. Maybe you know this and maybe you don't but I love chocolate...especially semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips.  However, a couple weeks ago, I got sick, and the thought of chocolate was not even an option, but as I got better I still couldn't eat a handful of chocolate chips as I did before...a sure problem something is still not right:)  However I have this huge bag of chocolate chips in my freezer and I need to eat them, so I have to put them in things, hence why I put them on my fruit salad.  If you haven't tried it you should.  A fruit salad for breakfast with greek yogurt, chocolate chips and a dap of honey is also really good.  Now onto my story... I had to get

His Love Will Never Fail!

Enjoying a girls afternoon! Dear Friends, One year ago, this month, I left the states to be a missionary, a desire the Lord put in my heart a long time ago.  I left for Colombia, South America and a short time later, I moved to Costa Rica to study Spanish.  Living in Costa Rica is amazing.  From the sunny days and cool evenings to the people I meet and have the opportunity to pray with and share Christ with, I couldn't ask for anything better. And I am thankful to stay for a little while longer.  You read that correctly.   I have been given the opportunity to continue to study Spanish (which I am so thankful for), build relationships and live life here sharing the Gospel until... the LORD knows!  Flexibility is the key...   Proverbs 19:21 says,  "Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails."   The  LORD  is directing my steps a little differently than I expected and  there are no complaints here, because HE knows bes

Then Sings My Soul!

My heart sings for joy when I see all that God has created! The rising of the sun is different every time  and it proclaims who God is.  His mercy's are new every morning! The beauty of each day is a reminder that God's promises are true! He is always near,  He is Love, He is caring, He is our provider He is creative and He is our Savior. His arms are wide open to receive us and love us! Here I am Lord!  Cover me and fill me with your amazing love! Here I am Lord! I will go and I will stay wherever that may be! You are my guide and I will follow! 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; and be strong. Do everything in Love.
